I was in Tokyo once for five crazy, exhilarating days in spring of '99. I Stayed at a capsule hotel in Akasaka but only sleeping about 4 hours per night -so much to do!
Can anyone reccomend another type of Tokyo accomodation that is under $75(US) per night? I've heard about the Ryokan style hotel, which sounds interesting. Love the Japanese baths!
How about hot nightclubs that feature cutting edge Tokyo music, like Melting Banana or something on the crazy edge?
Arigato!

Re: cheap accomodations in tokyo?
Fri, November 11, 2005 - 11:04 AMIt's a little late I know but try any one of the following for cheap good accomodation:
www.sawanoya.com (yanaka area, near Nezu st.)
www.fukudaya.com (a short bus ride from Shibuya)
www.kangetsu.com (not the most convenient location but decent place)
www.katsutaro.com/ (another yanaka ryokan style hotel)
I've stayed at all these places except Katsutaro. Good luck.
I.
